I Can Be Some Good (Video)
Getting to work on another music video with Michael Shanks was a real treat.
Michael’s always full of great ideas. I’d shot some footage of a ‘couple' I worked with in Austin, Texas last year (Benjamin Tubb and Alyssa Ann Evens),and we projected it onto the background while I sang the song.
Thankfully we were able to get Ed Goldner back as our DOP (who also shot the “Storm’ clip). We talked a lot about wanting the colour palette to be sweet and simple and pretty. Ed had a bunch of 35mm film stock so we made the decision to shoot it on that.
All in all, a very simple video to suit a pretty simple song, "I Can Be Some Good" just looks at breaking down the complexities of any relationship to find the simple ability we have to love our partner no matter what. Hopefully the clip reflects that too. - GUY PEARCE
